This study proposed a modified passive islanding technique that combines over/under frequency (OUF), rate of change (ROCOF), phase angle difference (ROCPAD), and voltage (ROCOV) for sensing nonislanding conditions. The was implemented in MATLAB/Simulink applied to the distribution network Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nigeria containing 120 buses maintain stable power supply its critical loads during grid outages. method utilized frequency, voltage, current signals as input combined method. For each relays, low threshold fast operation while high secure operation. First, OUF, ROCOF, ROCOV, ROCPAD relays were using an AND gate limit relay short circuits since ROCOV measures drop determines whether it is grid‐connected or mode. After that, higher set ROCOF connected logical OR under transients noises. Finally, used sense case lower failed initially detect it. efficacy tested on FCT network, result showed successful loss due fault 330 kV line, 33 feeder at single point events. outage took 0.01138 0.000316 s switch DES, optimal capacities supplied 33.2 MW Bus 13, 18.9 120, 48.4 72, 45.1 46. total connection DES able 144.8 out peak load 600 which represents about 24.13% system referred loads. Therefore, connecting capable improves security, continuity consumers, customer satisfaction.
