Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a common urological disease that strongly associated with the aging process and can lead to lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). LUTS due BPH significantly affect quality of life many patients. Among treatments available for improve functional outcomes, drug therapy surgical are options choice. However, most patients symptomatic BPH, medical management remains cornerstone treatment. Pharmacologic interventions often preferred as first approach, being less invasive compared surgery. Although treatment currently defined by algorithms international guidelines, need more personalized approach increasingly recognized given wide heterogeneous range therapeutic available.
