Abstract Cervical cancer remains a significant public health concern, ranking as the fourth most common among women worldwide and major contributor to cancer-related mortality, particularly in low- middle-income countries. Despite advancements screening programs that have reduced its incidence industrialized nations, cervical highly prevalent developing regions due inadequate human papillomavirus (HPV) follow-up measures. In India, accounts for substantial proportion of new cases, emphasizing urgent need improved preventive strategies. HPV, primary etiological agent, is sexually transmitted infection, with various risk factors such early sexual activity, multiple partners, immunosuppression playing crucial role transmission. This review highlights global burden cancer, impact HPV challenges associated prevention detection, underscoring enhanced initiatives.
