Environmental pollution with organic substances has become one of the world's major problems. Although pollutants occur in environment at concentrations ranging from nanograms to micrograms per liter, they can have a detrimental effect on species inhabiting aquatic environments. Endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs) are particularly dangerous group because estrogenic activity. Among EDCs, alkylphenols commonly used households deserve attention, where go sewage treatment plants, and then water reservoirs. New methods wastewater removal high xenoestrogens still being searched for. One promising approach is bioremediation, which uses living organisms such as fungi, bacteria, plants produce enzymes capable breaking down pollutants. These include laccase, produced by white rot fungi. The ability laccase directly oxidize phenols other aromatic focus attention researchers around world. Recent studies show enormous potential application processes detoxification biodegradation natural industrial wastes.
