In this study, bioinspired chitinous manufacturing is leveraged to artificially reproduce iridescent gratings found in the cuticles of beetles living concealed environments. Combining with a melanin‐like background achieves vibrant iridescence, similar that produced by multilayer reflectors leaf beetles. process, controlled production optical structures allowed using polymers, same components produce color arthropod cuticles. This not only aids understanding functionality and evolutionary advantages these without being limited existing solutions animals—which entangle for several problems rubble past functionalities—but also enables creation second most abundant organic material on Earth, surpassed its ubiquity cellulose. However, unlike cellulose‐based materials, are avoiding use strong solvents, representing simplified approach producing vibrant, iridescent, fully biodegradable, ecologically integrated colors. Herein, hundreds square centimeters surfaces, scale suitable imparting biodegradable large 3D objects, demonstrated.
