This study uses Aspen Plus simulations to explore the performance of a new flowsheet for ammonia production using Three Reactor Chemical Looping (TRCL) technology. In TRCL, solid Oxygen Carrier continuously circulates between Fuel Reactor, Steam and an Air Reactor. The is reduced in oxidised Reactors. Hydrogen generated nitrogen produced from form synthesis gas that converted ammonia. compares TRCL process with conventional pseudo-continuous Reforming (CLR) packed beds. Energy environmental indicators are evaluated three processes. It was found energy consumed higher than other two processes because steam consumption generating hydrogen. However, if conversion greater 67.5% can be achieved, comparable CLR At conversion, specific becomes 21.5 GJ/tNH3. also noted Specific Consumption Carbon dioxide Avoidance (SPECCA) much better at 67.5%. Although further development needed, this shows holds promise lower commercial technologies.
