In this study, we explore the photoelectrochemical behavior of planar heterostructured FTO/CuBi2O4/BiVO4 electrode and tandem FTO/BiVO4 || FTO/CuBi2O4 cell in order to evaluate mechanisms charge separation transfer both systems. Both individual electrodes were characterized by SEM, XRD, XPS, Kelvin probe methods confirm successful formation a heterostructure. Evaluation band gap, conduction valence energy level positions, as well position Fermi components heterostructure infers type II with an ability realize conventional mechanism Z-scheme separation. It was demonstrated that depends on photoexcitation conditions. Particularly, either or photoanode photocathode leads dominating realization transfer.
