Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) have gained considerable attention in recent years due to their dual potential waste treatment and clean energy production. In the field of mine tailings treatment, MFCs exhibit a unique advantage by integrating pollutant degradation with electricity generation, gradually emerging as significant research focus. Based on 1321 relevant publications retrieved from Web Science Core Collection (WoSCC) 2004 2024, this study employs bibliometric analysis systematically explore status future trends power generation. The main themes include (1) distinctive publication characteristics MFC studies context treatment; (2) key information leading countries, institutions, journals, disciplines contributing field; (3) comprehensive summary technological breakthroughs, hotspots, development directions management. By thoroughly evaluating existing body research, provides valuable guidance for scholars new fields while offering insights into advancements shaping domain.
