Abstract The fecal microbiome is emerging as an essential component of the gut microbiota and host metabolism, whereas in cattle, characterization still needed. Recent evidence indicates that small RNAs, such miRNAs, may be isolated from feces involved host–microbe interactions. In this study, samples were collected rectal ampulla Nelore bulls phenotypic divergent for residual feed intake (RFI). miRNA sequencing 16S rRNA gene (V3-V4 region) performed to reveal associations between miRNAs composition their relationships with efficiency phenotype. Among 162 identified seven more expressed inefficient group: bta-miR-27b, bta-miR-30a, bta-miR-126, bta-miR-143, bta-miR-155, bta-miR-205 bta-miR-196a. Using metabarcoding sequencing, we 5,005 bacterial ASVs, after filtering, used 357 ASVs subsequent analyzes. Our results provide new perspective exploring host-microbiome interactions affect FE traits. Taken together, these point here potential regulators efficiency, which knowledge needed develop future strategies manipulate microbiome.

Abstract Background Gut bacteria have a significant impact on modern genetics and contribute to the improvement of aquatic germplasm, which is key area focus for breeders. However, effects complex interactions between gut community phenotypic products remain largely unknown. Results Here, we unravel association phenotypic, microbiota host metabolic variables 216 sea cucumbers (Apostichopus japonicus) by Metagenome-wide studies (MWAS) Weighted correlation network analysis (WGCNA) methods. Our findings reveal that total 14 microbial biomarkers 201 markers considered being associated with polysaccharide collagen content. Among them, Desulfobacterota has capacity facilitate synthesis octopamine within neuroactive ligand-receptor pathway, subsequently influencing Additionally, Lachnospiraceae_NK4A136_group was shown enhance content through facilitation glycine synthesis. Conclusions In conclusion, metabolism-mediated are dependent composition microbiota, indicating precision microbiome management could be employed as strategy engineer high-quality germplasm.
