Pesticides and plastics have brought convenience to agricultural production daily life, but they also led environmental pollution through residual chemicals. Emamectin benzoate (EMB) is among the most widely used insecticides, which can cause harm health of organisms. Additionally, microplastics (MPs), a relatively new type pollutant, not only are increasing in amounts within water bodies aquatic organisms exacerbate by adsorbing other pollutants, leading mixed scenario. Nevertheless, toxicity mechanism EMB MPs on common carp skeletal muscle been elucidated. Therefore, we established exposure models for MPs, methods such as hematoxylin eosin staining, immunofluorescence JC-1 western blotting were employed investigate underlying mechanisms damage. The results vivo vitro experiments indicated that or oxidative stress, turn caused mitochondrial fusion/fission imbalance (with decreased Mfn1, Mfn2, OPA1 increased DRP1), reduced membrane potential, ATP content, protein synthesis, degradation, ultimately resulting atrophy. Joint more severe damage than single exposure, addition NAC effectively alleviate In summary, and/or induced excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, giving rise dysfunction an synthesis atrophy carp.

The global crisis of plastic pollution, particularly involving microplastics (MPs) and nanoplastics (NPs), has profound ecological implications. Birds, serving as bioindicators, are especially susceptible to these pollutants. This systematic review synthesizes the current research on presence, distribution, impact MPs NPs avian species, alongside advancements in detection methodologies. have been identified over 200 bird species across 46 families, encompassing several ecosystems, from Antarctica Labrador, including Australia, China, South Europe. Seabirds such penguins, gulls, shearwaters exhibit a high burden tissues feces due fishing debris, while terrestrial face contamination urban agricultural sources. Depending their composition, can cause gastrointestinal damage, oxidative stress, bioaccumulation toxic chemicals, polyethylene polypropylene. However, challenges persist methodological inconsistencies, though advances spectroscopy flow cytometry offer improved accuracy. Addressing this pollution is vital for conservation ecosystem health, requiring international collaboration standardized protocols.
