Anxiety disorders are the second most common mental health in terms of disability-adjusted life years and lost across all age groups. Many patients with chronic health conditions experience anxiety, which can have significant implications on physical outcomes and quality of life. This systematic review meta-analysis aimed to examine the prevalence anxiety in gastroenterology hepatology outpatients, across factors such as condition, type patient demographics, intention support clinicians providing effective care. Several recent reviews been published investigating rates different outpatient settings, found consistently high dermatology, endocrinology, cardiology respiratory/sleep medicine fields, ranging between 25.1% 30.3%.
