Atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) at baseline has been associated with increased morbidity and mortality from cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, the relationship between long-term AIP trajectories CVD remains unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate associations incidence in English population. The data analysis was based on Longitudinal Study Aging (ELSA) 2004 2017. population consisted individuals aged 50 years older England. calculated as log10 (triglycerides/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol). Group-based trajectory model (GBTM) applied identify Wave 2 8 over a 12-year follow-up. Cox proportional hazard models were then used analyze different groups CVD. A total 3976 participants completed more than two measurements enrolled ELSA cohort. divided into three [low-stable group (n = 1146), moderate-stable 2110), high-stable 720)] using GBTM model. Abstract Background Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are potentially traumatic events that occur up to the age of 18 years. Such trauma often results in chronic psychological stress is associated with negative health outcomes across lifespan. The aim this study investigate associations between ACEs and older adults. Methods present a cross‐sectional design. Socio‐demographic information on patients’ age, gender, marital status, living education level were collected. Furthermore, comprehensive geriatric assessment ACE scale conducted. consisted 10 questions categorised as psychological, physical, sexual abuse, well neglect. relationship detailed parameters analyzed. Results There 276 (mean 77.9 ± 7.3 years, 74.3% female) patients included study. prevalence was 43.1%, being most common. Female number medications, presence insomnia dysphagia higher who experienced at least one than those without ( P < 0.05). In multivariate analyses, only persisted (odds ratio 1.83, 95% CI 1.12–3.01; Conclusions detected approximately every two Those 1.8 times more likely experience insomnia. Therefore, when evaluating an patient insomnia, should be evaluated also questioned have ACE.

Importance Childhood adverse experiences have been linked with long-term risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), yet the transgenerational associations between interparental behaviors and CVD remain poorly understood. Objectives To explore association exposure to childhood physical violence subsequent examine whether is modified by adult depressive symptoms. Design, Setting, Participants This population-based cohort study included data from China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), an ongoing recruiting individuals aged 45 years or older, dated June 1, 2011, December 31, 2020, a follow-up duration 9 years. The were analyzed October 2023, May 10, 2024. Exposures An early life questionnaire information on frequency witnessing was administered. Depressive symptoms assessed via validated 10-item Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale. Main Outcomes Measures outcome measures self-reported physician-diagnosed heart (defined as myocardial infarction, angina, coronary disease, failure, other problems) stroke. Multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression models using attained age time scale conducted. Results Of 10 424 participants, mean (SD) 58.1 (9.0) years, 5332 (51.2%) female, 872 (8.4%) reported violence. Exposure associated increased risks adult-onset (hazard ratio [HR], 1.36; 95% CI, 1.20-1.55), (HR, 1.17-1.57), stroke 1.28; 1.03-1.61). exposed had greater prevalence (2371 9335 participants [25.4%]), which mediated 11.0% 1.26; 1.09-1.45). Conclusions Relevance In this study, higher CVD, partially findings emphasize need comprehensive strategies policy efforts that address social determinants provide household education opportunities.
