Abstract. Alpine glacier-based temperature reconstructions spanning the last deglaciation provide critical constraints on local to regional climate change and have been reported from several formerly glaciated regions around world yet remain sparse high-northern-latitude regions. Using newly previously 10Be-dated moraines, we report paleo-glacier equilibrium line altitudes (ELAs) for 15 time slices Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) Little Ice Age (LIA) a valley in western Alaska Range. We translate our ELA into proxy summer by applying dry adiabatic lapse rate at each reconstructed relative outermost LIA moraine. observe ∼4 °C warming through site that took place two steps following initial gradual warming: ∼1.5 abrupt 16 ka, ∼2 kyr after onset of global CO2 rise, ∼15 near start Bølling. Moraine deposition modest cooling during Heinrich Stadial 1 early Younger Dryas (YD) suggest despite these events being expressed more strongly wintertime, classic blueprint North Atlantic variability extends Arctic region.
