In this study, the potential therapeutic effect of Maca root (Lepidium Meyenii) on oxidative damage and histopathological changes in ovaries induced by experimental polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) rats was evaluated. The study involved thirty–five female Sprague Dawley rats, each aged 2.5 months. These were allocated into five distinct groups. first group did not receive any treatment or intervention. Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) (1%) applied to 2nd group. 3rd at a dose 2 g·kg-1·d-1 body weight gavage for 7 days (d). 1 mg·kg-1·d-1 letrozole (PCOS agent) dissolved 1% CMC 4th 21 d. Letrozole maca together 5th application started 15th d d, while starting 14 before both applications terminated 22nd PCOS group, malondialdehyde (MDA) levels observed be elevated compared control whereas reduced glutathione (GSH) levels, along with activities catalase (CAT), peroxidase (GSH–Px), glutathione–S– transferase (GST), superoxide dismutase (SOD), found reduced. PCOS+maca differences determined all parameter values close (except GSH–Px Follicle–Stimulating Hormone (FSH)). number atretic follicles significantly decreased (P≤0.01). It noted that cystic increased statistically groups other (P≤0.001). development PCOS–related ovarian toxicity stress, may contribute discrepancy between oxidants antioxidants, help alleviate severe side effects caused PCOS.

Abstract The production of high-quality oocytes requires precisely orchestrated intercellular communication. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are cell-derived nanoparticles that play a vital role in the transfer bioactive molecules, which has gained much attention field diagnosis and treatment. Over past ten years, participation EVs reproductive processes been broadly studied shown great potential for elucidating intricacies female health. This review provides an extensive discussion influence on oocytes, emphasizing their involvement normal physiology altered cargo under pathological conditions. In addition, positive impact therapeutic oocyte quality alleviating ovarian conditions summarized.

Diminished Ovarian Reserve (DOR) is a complex etiology disease that significantly impacts female fertility, endocrine function, and overall health status. In recent years, the incidence of DOR has been increasing, yet therapeutic methods remain relatively limited, particularly for patients with reproductive needs who often require Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) treatments. Growth Hormone (GH), peptide hormone secreted by anterior pituitary, promotes growth in bones, viscera, multiple organs systems throughout body, enhances protein synthesis, influences fat mineral metabolism, playing crucial role human development. Its levels decrease aging organism. studies have suggested decline may be one causes decreased ovarian leading to application GH assisted treatments DOR. An increasing body research indicates can improve function through mechanisms such as antioxidant stress, promotion follicle development, enhancement oocyte quality, it also shows potential endometrial receptivity, making promising safe effective strategy ART patients.

Acrylamide (Acr) poses reproductive toxicity risks to humans due its ability penetrate cell membranes and disrupt cellular balance. Taurine (Tau), a sulfur-containing amino acid with membrane stabilization antioxidant properties, may mitigate these effects. This study examined how Tau can protect against oxidative stress apoptosis induced by Acr in mouse ovarian tissue. Forty adult healthy mice, aged 6–8 weeks, were randomly assigned four groups including the controls (received normal saline orally), (50 mg/kg/day + Tau75 (Acr 75 Tau), Tau150 150 Tau). Treatments administered for 35 days, followed assessments of markers via immunofluorescence TUNEL assays. Both doses significantly increased gene protein expression levels response enzymes, Gpx1 , Sod1 Cat . Moreover, decreased apoptotic Caspase3 B ax while upregulating antiapoptotic Bcl2l2 The assay revealed preventive properties Acr-induced ovaries. current findings suggest promising prevention Therefore, could play protective role females, meriting further research into potential applications.
