Abstract The integration of renewable energy sources is essential for meeting the growing demands while mitigating environmental impacts, particularly in regions like Saudi Arabia. This study explores potential a solar-wind hybrid system integrated with hydrogen fuel cell storage to address limitations standalone solar and wind power generation Using MATLAB Simulink, we model simulate production from photovoltaic (PV) panels turbines Riyadh Neom, under real historical climate conditions. focuses on optimizing mix between wind, minimizing required capacity ensure stable cost-effective supply. results demonstrate that Neom’s constant profile, an average speed 2.95 m/s, promotes consistent minimizes requirements compared Riyadh, where fluctuating speeds (average 3.31 m/s) lead higher costs. Additionally, standard test conditions (1000 W/m 2 25 °C), 100 kW PV generated maximum output 88 kW, whereas conditions, both yielded roughly 52 due lower irradiance MPPT limitations. highlights benefits systems improving security reducing reliance fossil fuels Arabia, also offering insights into solutions variable resources.
