This article addresses the technical, aesthetic, and strategic problem of limited attention paid to design selection materials in photovoltaic system (PSS) support structures despite their direct impact on efficiency, durability economic viability these systems. As costs modules electronic components continues decrease, structural elements acquire greater weight total cost long-term performance. Our research comprehensively analyzes mechanical, environmental, regulatory factors influencing material PV mounting The PRISMA methodology was used perform a systematic review 122 articles published between 2018 2025, which were classified along two axes: (mild steel, galvanized aluminum, polymers, composites) (angle, orientation, loads, typology, adaptation environment). results show that an adequate match climatic conditions improves stability, service life. With digital modeling advanced simulations, we identify trends towards modular, lightweight, adaptive solutions, particularly architectural applications (BIPV). work provides robust contextualized technical framework facilitates informed decision-making solar energy projects, with implications for sustainability, resilience, competitiveness PSS sector different geographical regions.
