Sustainable energy production is a worldwide concern due to the adverse effects and limited availability of fossil fuels, requiring development suitable environmentally friendly alternatives. Hydrogen considered sustainable future source owing its unique properties as clean nontoxic fuel with high yield abundance. can be produced through renewable nonrenewable sources where method feedstock used are indicators whether they carbon-neutral or not. Biomass one hydrogen that also available in large quantities different conversion methods produce fuel, heat, chemicals, etc. gasification promising technology generate hydrogen. However, tar during this process biggest obstacle limiting commercialization biomass technology. This review focuses on catalytic gasification. The effect catalysts enhance reviewed, social, technological, economic, environmental, political (STEEP) analysis carried out demonstrate challenges field catalysts.
