Abstract This paper addresses the issue of corporate greenwashing and its impact on consumer behavior, specifically in context circular food beverage packaging. We conducted a survey with 537 participants utilized Structural Equation Modeling to analyze relationships between company motives, attributions, perceptions greenwashing, wishcycling behavior. Additionally, we explored moderating effect core self‐evaluation relationship packaging techniques. Our findings highlight mediating role motives wishcycling. also found that personality traits, particularly self‐evaluation, moderate greenwashing. These results emphasize importance understanding behavior environments policy domains. The provide valuable insights for policymakers, businesses, researchers seeking promote sustainable consumption mitigate environmental harm transition toward more economy.

Many studies aimed at estimating the environmental impacts associated with food sector, but most of existing developed indicators limited problem only to climate change, while it is well-known that sector may extend its influence on a wider spectrum categories. In this work, Life Cycle Assessment was applied list 1001 recipes for an Italian canteen, prepared more than 150 ingredients, purpose develop comprehensive indicator (namely, SQUIID: Simplified Quantitative Impact Indicator Dishes).SQUIID includes in evaluation categories showing significant contribution (at least 86%) single score, i.e., global warming potential (GWP), particulate matter formation, land occupation, human non-carcinogenic toxicity and water consumption. The then analyzed under three perspectives: mass, GWP SQUIID.The mass perspective indicates contains fairly balanced amount pointing out remarkable diversification menu examined canteen.Concerning SQUIID spheres, meat-based fish-based resulted main impacting ones (77% former 73% latter), demonstrating be two classes mainly responsible observed, even if vegetarian vegan dishes represent 41% mass.Meat-based 42% entire case GWP, when adopting SQUIID, their overall reduced 35%.In fact, percentage instead attributed fish, raising from 31% (GWP) 43%.Such variation demonstrated relevance four additional selected final evaluation, proving GWP-based provide consumer partial representation issue.
