As a clean energy, renewable energy has the capacity to reduce carbon dioxide emission associated with economic activities such as international trade. This study assesses moderation role of in trade openness and environmental degradation nexus. Data from 32 Africa countries for 2002-2021 period is used examination. FMOLS DOLS methods show that growth an inverted U-shape relationship emissions confirming EKC hypothesis African countries. Trade urbanization have positive effect on while reduces emissions. More so, openness-carbon nexus negative. indication can dampen openness. Consequently, improve societal welfare by reducing promote environment. Policy issues include need incorporate trading activities.

The rising levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions on the African continent has been an issue concern. Consequently, this study analyses mitigating role renewable energy and mobile technology in effect industrial sector growth emissions. Using data from 32 countries for period 2002-2021, finds that expansion increases CO2 region, while consumption reduce Also, phone are found to moderate Other findings trade openness, urbanization, income increase recommends removal financial impediments way firms enhance their acquisition efficient technologies operations governments region should support development adoption energy.

This study investigates the impact of globalisation, renewable energy consumption, and economic growth on CO2 emissions in 26 European Union (EU) countries, period 1990–2020. Second-generation panel unit root tests are applied, Westerlund cointegration test is used, a fully modified least squares (FMOLS) dynamic ordinary (DOLS) techniques employed to estimate long-term relationship between variables. The causality among considered variables identified using heterogeneous Dumitrescu–Hurlin test. It was found that globalisation consumption contributed carbon emissions’ mitigation, while induced their increase. results robust when control (i.e., financial development, foreign direct investment, urbanisation) added model. Foreign investment urbanisation contributors increase, whereas development induces decrease. effect differentiated by level institutional quality. Unidirectional relationships were from bidirectional growth, emissions. policy implications also discussed.
