This study analyzes the effect of renewable energy research & development (RRD) and nuclear (NRD) expenditures on environmental quality by considering Germany's goal achieving carbon neutrality until 2045. Hence, uses various indicators (carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, ecological footprint-EF, load capacity factor-LCF) to investigate effects RRD NRD controlling also a gross domestic product (GDP) test validity Kuznets curve (EKC) recently proposed (LCC) hypotheses. Also, includes yearly data from 1974 2018, fractional frequency Fourier autoregressive distributive lag (FADL) based FMOLS approach as main model, applies FADL DOLS wavelet causality for robustness. The empirical results reveal that (i) explanatory variables have cointegration link with CO2 emissions EF; (ii) EKC hypothesis is valid Germany, while LCC invalid; (iii) are effective only in reducing emissions; (iv) no significant EF. Considering results, German policymakers could utilize more effectively efficiently improve reduce In this way, Germany achieve its middle century benefiting facilities.

Renewable energy, energy efficiency, and nuclear research development (RER, EER, NER) budgets are immensely important to fulfill sustainable goals 7, 9, 13, by accelerating innovation, transition, climate control. The literature on the drivers of load capacity factor (LCF), a recently developed ecological quality measure, is mounting; however, roles investments in LCF largely unknown. Accordingly, this study assesses impacts RER, NER, financial globalization (FIG) using data from 1974 2018 for Germany. Advanced reliable time series tests (Augmented ARDL, DOLS, Fourier causality) adopted analyze cointegration, long-run impacts, causal connections. outcomes unveil that both green efficiency R&D promote enhancing quality. However, positive impact NER found be weaker than RER EER. FIG curbs degradation expanding LCF. Additionally, U-shaped connection between economic growth (ECG) confirms curve. Therefore, policymakers should focus EER preserve environment growth.

This research investigates the effects of income, total energy consumption (TEC), price index (EPI), crude oil (COP), political risk (PRI), and geopolitical (GPR) on environmental degradation. In this context, study includes five Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which are mainly oil-rich have high fossil fuel with increasing degradation; considers monthly data from 2000/1 to 2021/12, deploys novel quantile-based methods. The outcomes demonstrate that (i) an increase in TEC, EPI stimulates degradation all GCC countries; (ii) PRI, COP, GPR mixed (iii) a causal effect regressors CO 2 emissions exists quantiles except for some middle (0.45–0.55) higher (0.95); (iv) power vary according (v) consistency results is validated based robust model. findings reveal generally harmful environment but, effects. methods underline significance stability as non-economic non-energy factors by demonstrating varying countries. Accordingly, various policies, such focusing stability, benefitting leverage, enabling transition clean energy, discussed.
