The ongoing Russo–Ukrainian War has highly affected energy markets in the EU and worldwide, with different EU- country-level emergency policy measures being advanced to tackle high prices. Despite progress green initiatives race toward climate neutrality by 2050, prices are a matter of concern for all countries short-to-medium term. current study investigates price volatility aftermath Russia–Ukraine conflict, which is interest designing effective government (such as monetary policies) addressing consequent changes occurring employment, economic activity, commodity food prices, and, ultimately, sustainable development. For empirical analysis, we employed generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity models capture following commodities: Brent crude oil, TTF natural gas, UK gas. results reveal an elevated degree persistence volatility, namely, that term slow decay pronounced fluctuations products. vulnerability EU’s geopolitical factors highlighted, especially could be due its dependence on Russian imports. Moreover, sanctions imposed Russia, namely sixth package sanctions, have minimal immediate effect stabilizing returns. offers several recommendations improve resilience sector.
