The convergence of economic growth and environmental preservation has become a crucial objective for governments worldwide. As the digital economy helps transform industries, its carbon-reducing effect been continuously validated. Technological innovation, policy support, promotion trade openness are ways to encourage greening economy. Currently, China is vigorously building national e-commerce demonstration zone (EDZ). Hence, main purpose this study explore how e-commerce, as an important part economy, can help reduce carbon emissions (CE). Based on panel data 276 prefecture-level cities in from 2007 2019, empirical results obtained under difference-in-difference model that establishment EDZs bring 0.0463 units reduction CE. suppressing CE more significant some regions located west, with larger city sizes relatively scarce resource endowments. Distinguishing common paths industrial structure, technological optimal allocation resources, also reveals regulating role mechanism analysis finds increasing foreign direct investment effectively promote findings paper emphasize practical significance energy saving emission reduction, promoting green high-quality development, provide valuable references managers makers.

E-commerce is a vital component of global retail sustainability, expanding at rate 14% annually, fuelled by increased internet adoption (55%), with over five billion users worldwide. In Africa, e-commerce revenues have surged to $31.18 million, Nigeria’s Business Consumer (B2C) index hitting 53.2 points and boasting 55% penetration in 2023, ranking fourth highest on the continent. The globalisation markets has exposed ecommerce companies economic downturns, compelling them adopt strategic pricing approaches ensure sustained profitability competitiveness. Consumers become more price-sensitive, emphasising need for firms accurately gauge sensitivity influence purchasing decisions effectively. This research explores how stores utilise digital strategies impact behaviour Gen Z consumers Nigeria. By employing an exploratory design, study utilised online survey distributed through Google Form, targeting tech-savvy consumers, who represent 85% 384-sample size derived using Borden sampling model. being guided theory planned behaviour, PLS-SEM model indicates that special event (0.433, 91.8% effect), sample product (0.236, 85.0% loss leader 93% effect) significantly Z’s consumer patronage (62.4%).
