Internalizing problems such as depression, anxiety and anhedonia are particularly problematic due to their covert nature. People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are disproportionately impacted by potentially traumatic experiences; however, organizations serving this population have lagged in their integration of trauma-informed care (TIC). Trauma-informed is a systemwide response to the pervasiveness trauma that frequently requires an organizational shift rooted staff training. Using online statewide survey, present study examined beliefs training among IDD service providers. Responses from 288 providers suggested some alignment content TIC principles. Although findings indicate foundation for TIC, intentional efforts needed agencies fully embrace TIC.
