A maiden attempt was made to utilize a novel hybrid meta-heuristic algorithm named radial movement optimization with arithmetic (HRMO-AOA) for the application of selective harmonic elimination (SHE) in five level-neutral point clamped inverter (5 L-NPCI). The investigated system comprises grid integrated solar PV cell 5 L-NPCI and wind units. HRMO-AOA technique is utilized optimize switching angles reducing total distortion (THD). Investigations are carried connected considering complex irradiations, fixed power at constant step load changes first time. Studies reveal that SHE (301 V) performs well over sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) (290.05 varied conditions. Further, L-NPC has shown significant improvement THD reduction (4.59 %) conventional methods like SPWM (17.66 %), SHE-PWM (9.88 neural network PSO (8.64 firefly (7.88 differential harmony (7.52 teaching-learning (6.89 Furthermore, investigations suggests techniques converges faster above mentioned techniques.

Several recent studies have demonstrated the benefits of incorporating auxiliary functions such as power quality enhancement services in control strategy grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems.
