Nowadays, the development of plant extracts as corrosion inhibitors to protect metals from is a popular research direction. However, given vast diversity species in nature, it imperative explore effective methods improve screening efficiency order quickly identify inhibition potential plants. In this work, new strategy for developing plant-extracted eco-friendly based on family and genus plants proposed. Three different genera Asteraceae family, including Artemisia argyi extract (AAE), Chrysanthemum indicum (CIE), Centipeda minima (CME), were selected successfully prepared novel Q235 steel sulfuric acid solution. The behavior corresponding mechanism systematically investigated by using some electrochemical tests (open circuit potential, potentiodynamic polarization, impedance spectroscopy) surface characterizations (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy). experimental results illustrated that main components three similar when combined with KI mixed-type inhibitors, they could dramatically slow down metal rate. maximum value reached 96.29%, 96.50%, 97.52%, respectively, at 200 mg/L increase 98.64%, 97.65%, 99.06%, prolonged immersion time. A synergistic effect exists between KI, leading firm adsorption molecules onto surface, thereby forming robust protective film. This work demonstrated possessed capabilities, providing way select numerous classification.

Active phytochemicals with unique electron structures can adsorb on metal surfaces and effectively mitigate corrosion. Recently, plant extracts have garnered significant attention as green renewable corrosion inhibitors. In this study, the abundant agricultural byproducts, namely Zea mays bracts, were used extract raw materials, bracts (ZMBE) was served an eco-friendly inhibitor for mild steel (MS) in 1 M HCl pickling solution. The organic substances ZMBE analyzed via ultra-high performance liquid chromatography- quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-QTFMS). interaction between active functional groups MS investigated using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) ultraviolet–visible (UV–visible) spectroscopy X-ray photoelectron (XPS). inhibition behavior scrutinized through potentiodynamic polarization (PDP) curves electrochemical impedance (EIS). results show that such aromatic rings, double bonds, hydroxyls successfully surface to form protective films. exhibits a mixed-type "geometric coverage" effect. efficiency (η) increases concentration solution temperature, optimum η 5.0 g·L−1 at 318 K is 96.2 %. adsorption of ingredients follows Langmuir El-Awady isotherms.
