The global population faces increasing challenges in securing fresh water and food production. Aquaculture, a key source for obtaining protein, contributes significantly to environmental pollution, releasing suspended solids, organic matter, nitrogen, phosphorus into bodies. Some wastewater treatment methods can be expensive due high equipment, energy, reagents, maintenance costs, prompting the search more sustainable alternatives. This study evaluates performance of tannin-based coagulants from Castanea sativa shells (CS) treating recirculating an aquaculture plant. Two coagulants, C1 C2, were produced using ethanolamine (ETA) NH4Cl, respectively. efficiency removing color, turbidity, was compared commercial coagulant (Tanfloc SG) chemical ones (FeCl3 Al2(SO4)3). Coagulant at 10 mg L-1, removed 90 % turbidity 32 phosphorus, outperforming Al-based (20 L-1). Moreover, CS-based reduced natural matter (NOM), expressed as UV absorbance 254 nm, dissolved carbon (DOC), though none nitrogen levels. Toxicity tests indicated low bacterial inhibition, with C2 showing inhibition rates 8-10 %. sludge rich calcium (97-1500 g-1), magnesium (408-638 potassium (347-894 making it suitable soil conditioner, further research is necessary. Tannin-based particularly chestnut shells, offer promising, solution post-treatment effluent aquaponics system on fish farm while reducing
