Abstract Advanced kirigami/origami techniques have enabled the flexible transformation of planar patterns into exquisite three‐dimensional (3D) structures and provided a new paradigm to control electromagnetic waves with remarkable reconfigurability functionality. The practical applications metasurfaces are prospective due their diversified wave‐manipulation capabilities, which demonstrate advantages such as compactness, lightweightness, deployability, scalability. In this article, comprehensive overview most recent advancements in field is provided. This includes concept kirigami/origami, implementations meta‐structures, application aspects waves. conclusion, future challenges promising pathways also envisioned from own perspectives.
