Hydrothermal carbonisation (HTC) has been identified as a potential route for digestate enhancement producing solid hydrochar and process water rich in organic carbon. This study compares the treatment of four dissimilar digestates from anaerobic digestion (AD) agricultural residue (AGR); sewage sludge (SS); residual municipal waste (MSW), vegetable, garden, fruit (VGF). HTC experiments were performed at 150, 200 250 °C 1 h using 10%, 20%, 30% loadings fixed mass. The effect temperature loading to properties biocoal biochemical methane (BMP) waters are investigated. Results show that behaviour during is feedstock dependent produced poor-quality fuel. AGR greatest higher heating value (HHV) 24 MJ/kg, however its poor due slagging fouling propensities.
