Biomass plays an essential role in enhancing global energy security and decreasing carbon emissions as a promising renewable option. Comprehensive techno-economic assessments have been carried out to spark industry stakeholders' interest increase their investment biomass-based enterprises. To provide more accurate reliable feasibility estimate, the evaluation must also take into account variety of uncertainties biomass conversion industry. This review aims present overview various types methodologies or techniques used assessment viability processes, highlight that need be taken model. A systematic literature is where four electronic databases viz., Scopus, Web Science, Dimensions, PubMed were identify most recent original research articles peer-reviewed journals. total 346 studies, covering period 2012–2022 screened for relevance study. Seventy-eight records (n=78) which include only met inclusion criteria. The identified several financial factors affect economic performance fast pyrolysis systems. Furthermore, upgrading bio-oil transportation fuels value-added biochemicals can significantly improve plants opposed selling raw bio-oil.
