Automotive
electrification
is
a
vital
component
of
the
carbon-neutrality
agenda.
To
counter
influence
shrinking
public
incentives
for
purchasing
electric
vehicles
(EVs),
it
crucial
to
deepen
understanding
existing
users’
use
cases
and
clear
barriers
potential
EV
owners
in
daily
usage.
this
end,
our
study
analyzes
an
11-month
usage
data
from
large
sample
EVs,
including
3,777
battery
EVs
(BEVs)
5,973
plug-in
hybrid
(PHEVs)
Shanghai,
China.
Based
on
their
travel
intensity,
are
clustered
into
two
groups
used
primarily
private
commercial
purposes.
Comprehensive
analyses
then
conducted
each
group
with
major
findings
retrieved
as
follows:
1)
Similar
gasoline-car
users,
BEV
users
also
tend
charge
when
SOC
declines
certain
level;
2)
Private
BEVs
slow
charging
69%
sessions,
whereas
fast
dominantly
89%
occasions;
3)
Replacing
all
remaining
gas-based
passenger
cars
Shanghai
will
result
10-15%
surge
load
power
grid;
4)
In
opposite
BEVs,
PHEVs
small
batteries
charged
less
often
rely
more
gas
power,
large-battery
like
frequently;
5)
PHEVs'
utilization
can

overestimated
