Global polystyrene (PS) production has been influenced by the lightness and heat resistance this material offers in different applications, such as construction packaging. However, population growth lack of PS recycling lead to a large waste generation, affecting environment. Pyrolysis recognized an effective method, converting into valuable products chemical industry. The present work addresses systematic, bibliometric, statistical analysis results carried out from 2015 2022, making extensive critique most influential operation parameters thermo-catalytic pyrolysis its waste. systematic study showed that conversion liquid with high aromatic content (84.75% styrene) can be achieved pyrolysis. Discussion fuel is described compared commercial fuels. In addition, favors when subjected co-pyrolysis biomass, improving properties viscosity energy content. A data compilation was also discussed, evaluating influence temperature, reactor design, catalysts on product yield.

The ecological transition in the transport sector is a major challenge to tackle environmental pollution, and European legislation will mandate zero-emission new cars from 2035. To reduce impact of petrol diesel vehicles, much emphasis being placed on potential use synthetic fuels, including electrofuels (e-fuels). This research aims examine levelised cost (LCO) analysis e-fuel production where energy source renewable. used process expected come photovoltaic plant other steps required produce e-fuel: direct air capture, electrolysis Fischer-Tropsch process. results showed that LCOe-fuel baseline scenario around 3.1 €/l, this value mainly influenced by component followed hydrogen one. Sensitivity, risk analyses are also conducted evaluate alternative scenarios, it emerges 84% cases, ranges between 2.8 €/l 3.4 €/l. findings show current not competitive with fossil yet development e-fuels supports protection. concept pragmatic sustainability, incentive policies, technology development, industrial symbiosis, economies scale learning can supporting decarbonization sector.

Eskom’s power plants in South Africa face frequent breakdowns due to a lack of maintenance and increasing energy demand. The high dependence on coal for generation, which is resource that significantly contributes carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions impact the environment negatively, could be reduced by considering renewable sources. Renewable supply, dependent private sector funding economic growth, seen as solution environmental problems. study aimed examine if financial development growth supply discover co-integration exists between these variables, including variables defined determinants namely: CO2 emission generation; secondly, electricity supply; thirdly, price changes; lastly, load shedding levels. research gap identified twofold. Firstly, there relationship development, specifically Africa. Furthermore, existing other countries has produced inconclusive results. Secondly, minimal been conducted how impacts emerging markets. Thus, present sought bridge contribute scientific body knowledge related drivers supply. autoregression distributed lag (ARDL) model was employed test have statistically significant well direction relationship, an observation period from 1990 2021. results proved were reported positive long run short run.
