Multi-energy supplemental renewable energy system with high proportion of wind-solar power generation is an effective way "carbon neutral", but the randomness and volatility seriously affects safe stable operation grid. With development storage technology, this problem can be effectively solved by configuring storage, how to reasonably configure one key issues due expensive storage. To end, a multi-timescale nested capacity optimization model for multi-energy pumped hydro plant based on three-battery group control strategy proposed. First, electrochemical added containing hydro-wind-solar form hybrid units, its charging/discharging coordinated are investigated. Then, double-layer in multiple time scales developed. The inner layer optimizes hydropower output smooth out more fluctuating wind large scales. outer taking into account factors such as deviation, cost, attenuation, dynamic prediction life less volatile smaller time-scale power. Finally, simulation demonstrates that proposed make full use flexible regulation capability units fast response batteries maximize fluctuation grid, further reduce peaking pressure receiving end In addition, superiority grouping over traditional battery method terms saving investment cost mitigating loss also verified. advantages carbon reduction cleaner production illustrated quantifiable terms.

Solar photovoltaic (PV) installations, which enable carbon neutrality, are expected to surge in the coming decades. This growth will support sustainable development goals (SDGs) via reductions power-generation-related environmental emissions and water consumption while generating new jobs. However, where what extent PVs should be utilized SDGs must thoroughly addressed. Here, we use multiple PV deployment scenarios compare benefits of related progress 366 prefectural-level cities China. We developed an assessment framework that integrates a allocation model, electricity system optimization benefit approach. identify vast differences distribution transmission elucidate trade-offs synergies among under various implementation scenarios.
