This research paper focuses on the optimization of solar water pumping systems (SWPS) by combining particle swarm (PSO) technique generator photovoltaic (GPV) side and direct torque control (DTC) pump motor side. The integration a maximum power point tracking system (MPPT-PSO) represents significant advance, enabling to be extracted from GPV whatever weather conditions. main objective is improve energy efficiency SWPS maximizing electrical dedicated system. At same time, application DTC aims optimize use generated GPV. intelligent approach adjusts according GPV, thus avoiding unsuitable profiles for results in better quality, longer life improved speed, which turn improves pump's rotational flow rate pumped. study confirm that combination PSO-DTC approaches overall performance SWPS. These improvements persist under different climatic

With the surge in energy demand worldwide, renewable is becoming increasingly important. Solar power, particular, positioning itself as a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative, playing role not only large-scale power plants but also small-scale home generation systems. However, systems face challenges development of efficient prediction models because lack data variability owing to weather conditions. In this study, we propose novel forecasting framework that combines transfer learning dynamic time warping (DTW) address these issues. We present learning-based system design can maintain high performance even data-poor environments. process developing model suitable for target domain by utilizing multi-source data, similarity evaluation method using DTW, which demonstrates excellent with low error rates MSE MAE metrics compared conventional long short-term memory (LSTM) Transformer models. This research contributes maximizing efficiency PV improving independence provides methodology reliability

Residential water heating represents one of the most energy-intensive household applications, particularly in South Africa, where immersed resistive element dominates. Solar photovoltaic systems provide a promising solution for augmenting grid-based electrical heaters, offering energy cost savings and environmental benefits. This study evaluates novel approach to integrate solar directly into heater without using inverters. Using combination field experiments simulation, four strategies were assessed, namely: “grid only”, “solar medium”, heavy”, timer”. Metrics such as augmentation ratio, utilization, cold event frequency analyzed different seasons real-world simulated usage profiles. Results demonstrate significant grid reductions through augmentation, warmer seasons. However, effectiveness varies, with increased utilization often correlated higher events. A hybrid seasonal strategy is proposed optimize while maintaining user comfort. work highlights potential direct DC integration cost-effective sustainable enhancement residential heating.
