This study proposes a concept and workflow for solar, context-adaptive reusable facades. Integrating solar control with parametric facade design, the uses radiation to inform modules variable openness or properties (e.g. frit cover), enabling envelopes adapt urban context changes while promoting circularity. The method was tested through simulations, assessing daylight, glare, energy circularity in changing scenarios. A Solar Circularity Indicator (SCI) introduced track façade alterations reuse. In 100m new obstruction scenario, 79% of were maintained, 29% altered reused, yielding an 85% SCI. Sunlight Autonomy metrics aligned well Re-design improved Spatial Daylight by up 4% minimal increase (<1%). Our solution provided 2% more useful daylight (100–3000lux) than glazed facades 11% less glare. provides framework circular, performance-based designs that preserve aesthetics adaptability.

Abstract Inefficient building façades pose a significant challenge in modern architectural design, often leading to poor indoor comfort, increased energy consumption, and negative environmental impacts. This research addresses the pressing problem of optimizing façade designs improve quality while reducing demands. The primary goal this study is investigate relationship between various characteristics such as materials, colour, texture, orientation their effects on comfort efficiency. hypothesis posits that an integrated approach design can significantly enhance thermal regulation, natural lighting, acoustic performance, thus fostering more comfortable environment. To test hypothesis, employs mixed-methods approach, incorporating quantitative data from field qualitative insights comprehensive questionnaires distributed occupants. Key findings reveal specific strategies, including strategic orientation, optimized use light, thoughtful material selection, lead notable improvements air circulation, noise control. For instance, buildings with south-facing utilize high-performance glazing effectively harness solar for heating minimizing glare. Additionally, incorporation green roofs living walls has been shown insulation reduce pollution. underscores critical need architects designers prioritize analysis processes. By doing so, they create energy-efficient, aesthetically pleasing, environments respond evolving climate challenges. Ultimately, advocates integration scientific principles innovative approaches practice, promoting sustainability occupant well-being.
