Abstract In water chlorination for removing pathogens, trihalomethanes (THMs) become among the significant carcinogenic by-products of drinking chlorination. The conventional measurement means these compounds is a GC device with an ECD detector (GC-ECD) or GC/MS. A GC-ECD GC/MS utilized analyzing at microgram per liter scale. Due to international sanctions, purchasing not easy cost-effective. This article introduces new concentration method using Head Space technique in GC-FID measuring trihalomethanes. this method, four compounds, chloroform (CHCl3), di-bromochloromethane (CHClBr2), bromodichloromethane (CHCl2Br) and bromoform (CHBr3), are plotted on 5-point calibration chart after being measured designed laboratory, can be used measure concentrations analyze data laboratories wastewater, environment, petroleum petrochemistry, etc. High accuracy (µg/L) main feature method. Here, design advantages presented diagrams tables.
