Currently, the analysis of trace-level contaminants in food must be addressed following green analytical chemistry principles and with a commitment to sustainable development goals. Accordingly, ecofriendly microextraction procedure based on μ-SPEed followed by ultrahigh liquid chromatography coupled ion-trap tandem mass spectrometry was developed determine occurrence pyrrolizidine tropane alkaloids honey samples. The took approximately 3 min per sample, using only 100 μL organic solvent 300 diluted sample. method properly validated (overall recoveries 72–100% precision RSD values ≤15%), its greenness scored at 0.61 out 1. applied different samples, showing overall contamination levels from 32 177 μg/kg these alkaloids. Atropine found all whereas retrorsine N-oxide, lasiocarpine, echimidine, echimidine N-oxide were main samples analyzed.

Commiphora gileadensis (C. gileadensis) has been identified and linked with various health benefits pharmaceutical potential for its phytochemical activities chemical constituents. This study aimed to evaluate ultrasonic-assisted extraction (USE) technique total phenols content from C. leaf compared the hydrodistillation (HDE). Our results showed that USE operating conditions were as: MeOH·H2O solvent-to-fresh sample ratio of 80:20 (v/v); ultrasonic power/frequency at 150 W/20 kHz; a temperature 40 ± 1°C; subjected acoustic waves intermittently calculated time (5 min) during programmed 12 min. The exhibited (118.71 0.009 mg GAE/g DM) more amounts all than HDE (101.47 0.005 DM), antioxidant (77.78 0.73%, 75.27 0.59% scavenging inhibition DPPH), respectively. Anti-aging Cytotoxicity investigated. biological evaluations crude extracts significantly extended replicative lifespan K6001 yeast. In addition, in vitro cytotoxicity against HepG2 cell line significant anticancer activity, approximately 100 μg/mL is required decrease viability control. proven larger scale extract isolate compounds utilization industry. conclusion, advanced methods afford an high activity properties extract.

Cork is a natural and renewable material extracted from the cork oak Quercus suber L. (1) Background: The cellular structure chemical composition of plant wall give its physical mechanical properties. Chemically, principally dominated by presence suberin as main structural cell component affected close association with other components. usual analysis has been partially adapted wood lignocellulosic analytical methods it method extensive procedures. This study aims to (i) find quicker more sustainable for testing composition, (ii) conduct extraction tests using alternative techniques, (iii) optimize methodologies, (iv) validate proposed methodologies. (2) Methods: Microwave-assisted (MAE) accelerated solvent (ASE) are explored systems traditional method. percentages extractives obtained via MAE lower than means classical composition. (3) Results: However, very similar in both methods: 46.39% case 45.11% microwave-assisted extraction. No significant differences observed between content dichloromethane, ethanol, water ASE results methodology. (4) Conclusions: faster methods; they use less solvents provide reproducible These data pave way novel alternatives relative studies cork.
