ABSTRACT The excessive accumulation of heavy metals has adverse effects on the human body. Here, magnetic iron oxide‐impregnated carboxymethyl‐β‐cyclodextrin was synthesized. synthesized material employed as a solid‐phase extracting adsorbent for specific like lead (Pb), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), and cobalt (Co). Characterization performed by X‐ray diffraction, energy dispersive spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller, Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy. analytical merits, detection limits (Pb: 1.38 ng/mL, Ni: 0.5 Co: 0.14 Cu: 0.55 ng/mL) quantification 4.14 1.62 1.85 1.82 were calculated. Similarly, preconcentration enhancement factors (15) relative standard deviation 3.5, 0.92, 2.7, 1.5) also interfering study shows that method is highly selective. For validation, it applied to certified reference materials such Institute Nuclear Chemistry Technology ornamental Basma tobacco leaves trace metal double addition 63.4 environmental water with good percent recovery values (92%–99%). Real food samples used satisfactory (90%–99%) results.

Cyclodextrins (CDs) have largely been investigated during the last decades for their outstanding properties, such as biocompatibility and biodegradability, with wide applications in pharmaceutical field, among which formation of inclusion complexes (ICs) natural or synthetic lipophilic compounds. This review prioritizes research recent years (2022–2025), being focused on (1) systematization ICs based structure secondary metabolite, namely (i) polyphenols (PPs), (ii) terpenes terpenoids (TTs), (iii) alkaloids (Alks); (2) each type complex, following aspects discussed: benefits complexation, composite materials, vitro/in vivo theoretical studies; (3) pharmacokinetics pharmacodynamics, risks, limitations, perspectives cyclodextrin metabolites.
