ABSTRACT Sample preparation maintains a key bottleneck in the whole analytical procedure. Solid‐phase sorbents (SPSs) have garnered increasing attention sample research due to their crucial roles achieving high clean‐up and enrichment efficiency analysis of trace targets present complex matrices. Novel nanoscale materials with improved characteristics considerable interest across different scientific disciplines limited capabilities traditional bulk‐scale materials. The purpose this review is offer thorough summary latest developments uses SPSs preparing samples for chromatographic analysis, focusing on years 2020–2024. techniques are examined, such as metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic (COFs), carbon nanoparticles (CNPs), molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs), metallic nanomaterials (MNs). Examining pros cons extraction methods, including solid‐phase (SPE), magnetic SPE (MSPE), flow‐based (FBA‐SPE), microextraction (SPME), stir‐bar sorptive (SBSE), dispersive (DSPE), main focus. Furthermore, article presents utilization technology isolating common contaminants various environmental, biological, food specimens. We highlight persistent challenges anticipate future advancements applications novel SPSs.
