Abstract Plant biomass is a highly abundant renewable resource that can be converted into several types of high-value-added products, including chemicals, biofuels and advanced materials. In the last few decades, an increasing number species processing techniques have been developed to enhance application plant followed by industrial some during which varied technologies successfully developed. this review, we summarize different sources biomass, evolving for treating it, various products derived from biomass. Moreover, challenges inherent in valorization used are also discussed. Overall, with increased use development treatment technologies, solution raised valorization, value-added will become greater more valuable.

Dyes, especially azo dyes contained in wastewaters released from textile, pigment, and leather industries, are entering into natural waterbodies. This results environmental deterioration serious health damages (for example carcinogenicity mutagenesis) through food chains. Physiochemical, membrane processes, electrochemical technology, advanced oxidation reverse osmosis, ion exchange, electrodialysis, electrolysis, adsorption techniques commonly used conventional treatment technologies. However, the limitations of most these methods include generation toxic sludge, high operational maintenance costs. Thus, technological advancements use to remediate effluents. Adsorption using nonconventional biomass-based sorbents is greatest attractive alternatives because their low cost, sustainability, availability, eco-friendly. We present reviewed up-to-date publications on for dye removal. Conceptualization synthesizing state-of-the-art knowledge characteristics, experimental conditions were also discussed. The merits various biosorbents reflected. maximum capacities synthesized order biomass type (algae, agricultural, fungal, bacterial, activated carbon, yeast, others). Surface chemistry, pH, initial concentration, temperature, contact time, adsorbent dose as well ways preparations materials affect biosorption process. Based average capacity, those arranged prioritized. best fit isotherms Freundlich Langmuir models) basic operating parameters removal retrieved. Which adsorbents have greater potential based uptake nature, cost-effectiveness, bulk mono multilayer behavior was including desorption cycles preparation operation implementation this technology forwarded.

Over the last few years, various industries have released wastewater containing high concentrations of dyes straight into ecological system, which has become a major environmental problem (i.e., soil, groundwater, surface water pollution, etc.). The rapid growth textile created an alarming situation in further deterioration to environment been caused due substances being left treated wastewater, including dyes. application activated carbon recently demonstrated be highly efficient technology terms removing methylene blue (MB) from wastewater. Agricultural waste, as well animal-based and wood products, are excellent sources bio-waste for MB remediation since they extremely efficient, sorption capacities, renewable sources. Despite fact that commercial is favored adsorbent dye elimination, its extensive restricted because comparatively cost, prompted researchers investigate alternative adsorbents non-conventional more economical. goal this review article was critically evaluate accessible information on characteristics bio-waste-derived MB's removal, related parameters influencing performance process. also highlighted processing methods developed previous studies. Regeneration processes, economic challenges, valorization post-sorption materials were discussed. This beneficial understanding recent advances status biowaste-derived adsorbents, highlighting accelerating need development low-cost functioning precursor large-scale system optimization.
