The loess hilly region is a typical ecologically fragile and sensitive area. It of great significance when measuring the balance between supply demand ecosystem services clarify relationship for scientific ecological restoration zoning realizing regional security social economic sustainable development. We take Yuzhong County in Longzhong, China as an example; by constructing matching coordinating service following idea “problem diagnosis—strategic orientation—key optimization”, this paper delimits zones proposes corresponding governance strategies. results show that: (1) were mainly at low medium level, with significant spatial heterogeneity. Overall, pattern showed high southwest mountainous areas urban gully Yuzhong. (2) There four types demand: HH type, LH LL HL type. local autocorrelation was dominated high-low or low-high misadjustment. average degree coordination 0.629, indicating that basically coordinated. (3) can be divided into six categories: core protection area, potential key soil water conservation agriculture development innovation promotion study provide ideas refined management targeted practice services. provides strong guarantee decision-making region.

Urbanization is the development trend of all countries in world, but it has caused considerable ecological problems that need to be alleviated by building security patterns. This study took Ningbo as an example construct and optimize pattern. We analyzed land use types, normalized difference vegetation index, landscape connectivity for sources selection. In constructing resistance surface, we considered natural socio-economic factors. On this basis, identified corridors based on a minimum cumulative model. Finally, pattern was optimized through space syntax. Results showed 18 sources, with area 3051.27 km2 29 corridors, length 1172.18 km. Among them, 11 are first-level, 10 second-level, 8 third-level corridors. After optimization, protection cost were significantly reduced, which can effectively alleviate trade-off between economic development. research provide reference construction optimization patterns significance rapidly urbanized areas.

Increased pressures from human activities may cause cumulative ecological effects on marine ecosystems. Increasingly, the study of ecosystem services is applied in environment to assess full and benefits it provides. However, environment, such integrated studies have yet move qualitative score-based fully quantitative assessments. To bridge this gap, proposed a 4-tiered method for summarizing available knowledge modelling tools aid assessments supply. First, functioning mechanisms underlying supply are conceptually mapped. Second, impacts activity interest summarized linked first conceptual model case-specific Third, indicators selected that would best represent changes most important parameters manner. Fourth, gained previous steps used select models useful quantify under pressure interest. This approach was case offshore wind energy Belgian part North Sea, which one rapidly expanding industries globally. provides tool proceed towards quantification services, highlighting need developing environmental impact assessment tools.

Recently, the concept of Ecosystem Services (ESs) has undergone a process mainstreaming. It been promoted in multiple policy documents and investigated growing number studies addressing functioning, assessment management ESs. Despite general recommendation to integrate ESs into planning processes, this step remains highly critical yet far from complete. This paper explores feasibility recommended uses for purposes by examining needs planners decision-makers. A systematic literature review was conducted analysing different overcome limited adoption verifying their operationalisation practices. The classifies purpose(s) assigned supporting process. results show that few experiments have adopted step-by-step procedure facilitating integration highlighting added value each phase In these cases, an ES-based Green Infrastructure allowed planning, also adopting multi-scale spatial dimension. More practical on how works are needed operationalise purposes, reinforcing role Strategic Environmental Assessment is still marginal.
