Urban pluvial floods are characterised by a number of features such as the high spatial and temporal resolution needed to capture their dynamics, complexity dual drainage systems lack sewer data availability, which make them very different from other types floods, like coastal or fluvial increase difficulty modelling them. As consequence, most flood management plans do not include rigorous evaluation urban risk. In this paper, we give comprehensive view current state modelling, restricted mere description mathematical approaches, but also including relevant that should be considered in validation studies have been performed date our vision on challenges addressed near future.

Corrosion and odor induced by sulfidogenic processes is a worldwide issue in environmental engineering. This study focuses on neglected, but critical process, conversion at the water-sediment interface, to optimize prediction control of sulfide sewers. A novel situ, high-resolution measurement method based diffusive gradients thin films technique was established for first time use sewer systems. The results showed that, shear velocity (i.e., ∼0.07 m/s), key factor dominating activity surface layer sediment ∼1 cm) switched substrate diffusion resistance surface. An increase from 0 m/s significantly activated process this layer. spatial variation functional microbial community further confirmed profile activity. model incorporating interface developed verified, which revealed characteristic response boundary thickness velocity. maximum production rates (kH2S) under varying water quality conditions were successfully simulated, improving model's predictive accuracy gravity has certain engineering significance optimizing
