Taihu Lake is the most important drinking water source of major cities in Yangtze River Delta. The pollution endocrine disruptors (EDCs)in has been increasing recently, accurate determination an guide for predicting its health risks and developing appropriate controls. Monitoring organic pollutants using diffusive gradient thin film technique (DGT) attracted much attention due to more accuracy convenience than grab sampling methods. In this study, a novel cyclodextrin polymer (CDP) synthesized by simple green method was taken as adsorbent binding gel. Four endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), bisphenol A (BPA), 17α-ethinylestradiol (EE2), 17β-estradiol (E2), estriol (E3), were models determine diffusion coefficients (4.68×10-6, 3.38×10-6, 3.34×10-6 4.31×10-6 cm2/s) test performance DGT, such adsorption capacity deployment time (1-5 day). assembled CDP-DGT adopted four EDCs simulated environment (3-9 pH, 0.001-0.5M ionic strength (IS), dissolved matter (DOM) 0-20mg/L). ability verified Jiuxiang carried out large-scale field application situ basin. results show that total concentration range estradiol equivalent concentrations (EEQ) main rivers are 2.78 ng/L 11.08 2.62 10.91 ng/L, respectively. risk quotients (RQs) all sites region greater 1, indicating pose serious threat aquatic organisms area. Therefore, monitoring basin should be further strengthened.

In this study, three electrochemical cocatalytic oxidation (EO) systems using different oxidants peroxysulfate (both PMS and PDS) hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) were compared. These analyzed for their degradation mechanisms pathways of organic pollutants, specifically sulfamethoxazole (SMX), carbamazepine (CBZ), bisphenol A (BPA). Based on quenching experiments electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) analyses, the EO-Fe(III)-PMS system generated multiple reactive oxygen substances (ROS) including SO4•–, •OH, 1O2. The EO-Fe(III)-PDS process primarily utilized •OH with being dominant agent. EO-Fe(III)-H2O2 chiefly depended which exhibited highest yield among systems. Response surface methodology (RSM) analysis suggested that was less influenced by complex water matrices. SMX, CBZ, BPA predicted leveraging mass spectrometry (MS) data. Biotoxicity assessments revealed is most apt SMX elimination. Meanwhile, displayed environmentally friendly characteristics during CBZ compared to other two Overall results indicate pros cons catalytic utilizing oxidants, offering insights into future options treatment strategies based individual merits sustainability.

The aim of this study was to synthesize activated carbon from low-cost material and then magnetize it with CoFe2O4 nanoparticles for evaluating its efficiency in the removal cephalexin aqueous media. physical structural properties synthesized adsorbent were analyzed by SEM, BET, XRD, VSM techniques. In addition, effect parameters, including pH, concentration cephalexin, dose, contact time, studied determine equilibrium adsorption process isotherms kinetics. results showed that increases increasing time dose decreases pH initial cephalexin. As antibiotics increased 50 250 mg/L, decreased 96.8% 36.1%. Optimal conditions obtained at = 3, 30 min, 2 g/L. Cephalexin antibiotic follows Freundlich isotherm (R2 0.9817) pseudo second-order kinetics 0.939). Although amount adsorbed per unit mass (qe) 27.5 18.3 mg/g 0.25 2.5 g/L carbon. present magnetized carbon, addition having such as rapid easy separation, has a high potential adsorption.
