Taihu Lake is the most important drinking water source of major cities in Yangtze River Delta. The pollution endocrine disruptors (EDCs)in has been increasing recently, accurate determination an guide for predicting its health risks and developing appropriate controls. Monitoring organic pollutants using diffusive gradient thin film technique (DGT) attracted much attention due to more accuracy convenience than grab sampling methods. In this study, a novel cyclodextrin polymer (CDP) synthesized by simple green method was taken as adsorbent binding gel. Four endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), bisphenol A (BPA), 17α-ethinylestradiol (EE2), 17β-estradiol (E2), estriol (E3), were models determine diffusion coefficients (4.68×10-6, 3.38×10-6, 3.34×10-6 4.31×10-6 cm2/s) test performance DGT, such adsorption capacity deployment time (1-5 day). assembled CDP-DGT adopted four EDCs simulated environment (3-9 pH, 0.001-0.5M ionic strength (IS), dissolved matter (DOM) 0-20mg/L). ability verified Jiuxiang carried out large-scale field application situ basin. results show that total concentration range estradiol equivalent concentrations (EEQ) main rivers are 2.78 ng/L 11.08 2.62 10.91 ng/L, respectively. risk quotients (RQs) all sites region greater 1, indicating pose serious threat aquatic organisms area. Therefore, monitoring basin should be further strengthened.

Wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) is a surveillance approach used to examine chemical and biological targets within population. Historically, the most common approaches wastewater sampling include grab composite sampling, which can be performed manually or using an automated sampler. However, there are inherent flaws with these methods. They miss analytes due fluctuation events in have high cost labour implications. Alternately, passive technique that involves medium stay aqueous matrix for extended periods of time provide greater temporal coverage. This literature review examines current devices general contaminants they targeting. The polar organic integrated sampler, Chemcatcher®, diffusive gradients thin films sampler semipermeable membrane were among frequently deployed samplers matrices. Chemical pharmaceuticals identified as targets. Passive has received recent attention SARS-CoV-2; however, overall, lack critical knowledge relating deployment associated variability Notwithstanding, ability capture make it useful pathogens community. Future research should focus on addressing gaps optimise use devices.

The membranes in polar organic chemical integrative samplers (POCIS) enclose the receiving sorbent and protect it from coming into direct contact with environmental matrix. They have a crucial role extending kinetic regime of contaminant uptake, by slowing down their diffusion between water phase phase. drive to improve passive sampling requires better design enhanced performances. In this review, preparation standard polyethersulfone (PES) for POCIS is presented, as well methods evaluate composition, morphology, structure, performance. Generally, only supplier-related morphological structural data are provided, such membrane type, thickness, surface area, pore diameter. issues related use PES applications exposed. Finally, alternative also discussed, although no has yet been developed. This review highlights urge more characterization details comprehension mechanisms which underlay behavior performance, selection optimize sampler development.

To date, an identification protocol for endocrine disruptors that bind to the thyroid hormone receptor (TR) has not been established. A method screening and identifying TR-binding substances is highly required due existence of unknown from environment. Here, we conceived a chromatographic using molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) create novel disruptors. receptor-imitating MIP was prepared N-acetylthyroxine (AcetylT4) 4-vinylpyridine as pseudo-template functional monomer, respectively, based on existing molecular recognition mechanism TR. The provided ability all were employed in this study. MIPs packed into high-performance liquid chromatography column simultaneous analysis non-binding substances. former strongly retained, while latter not. presence or absence TR-binding/non-binding activity resulted successful dichotomous separation. Additionally, surface imprinting technique applied improve separation performance packing material. MIP-coated uniformly sized silica-based particles 5 μm successfully prepared, silica enabled more efficient
