The wetland ecosystem is an important organic carbon pool on earth, and rich storage high density are present in vegetation soil. However, large areas of wetlands have been drained, the area has shrunk, degree fragmentation intensified due to rapid urbanization past 20 years. Enhancing ecological sequestration capacity a key task peaking neutrality, studying function urban urgently needed. In this work, Wuhan was taken as main research object. landscape pattern index calculated evolution characteristics were analyzed using remote sensing image interpretation data from 2000 2020. CASA model used estimate explore spatial temporal distribution sequestration. Spearman correlation study effects different parameters Results indicate following: (1) From 2020, total reduced by 158.99 km2, among which lakes, reservoirs marshes decreased 60.65 55.51 km2 41.77 respectively. patches irregularity increased, LPI, aggregation diversity decreased. (2) years, amount first then lowest 2010 (571,900 t). 2020 same that 2000, reaching 800,000 t. (3) A larger means more concentrated denser distribution, complex shape, diverse type, stronger for wetland. On contrary, becomes fragmented regular, disordered planning leads reduction types unit area, will decrease sink wetlands.

Cropland serves as the most vital resource for agricultural production, while its security is primarily threatened by abandonment. Northeast Guangdong Province features a fragmented terrain and faces significant issue of farmland It crucial to analyze phenomenon cropland abandonment safeguard food security. However, due limitations in data sources attribution methods, previous studies struggled comprehensively characterize driving mechanisms abandoned land. Using from Sentinel time series remote-sensing images, we employed land use change trajectory method map Jiaoling County 2019 2023. Furthermore, proposed novel analytical framework quantify influence pathways interaction effects The results indicate that: (1) overall accuracy extraction 79.6%. During study period, rate showed trend “gradual rise followed sharp decline”, area reached maximum 2021. southeastern rural areas was serious stubborn. (2) slope has greatest explanatory power abandonment, total cultivated area, aggregation index cropland, distance road. Each factor threshold effect. (3) Topography, location, agriculture factors directly or indirectly affect rate, with direct influences 0.247, 0.255, −0.256, respectively. research findings offer valuable scientific guidance managing deepen our understanding formation mechanisms.

Wetlands serve as a critical habitat for many plants and animals. However, with urban expansion other processes, the wetlands in China are lost at an alarming rate recent decades. This study quantifies pace of wetland loss past two decades investigates hidden mechanisms via proposed innovative grid-based geographically weighted regression computing unified device architecture (Grid-GWR-CUDA) method. Also assessed this is relative importance four natural factors (precipitation, digital elevation model (DEM), slope, evaporation), human related (distance to city, distance roads, population, gross domestic product (GDP)) both national regional levels. The some compared across different regions. results indicated that GDP, population size DEM three most significant impacting on level. They still influential regions sub-national level while precipitation important factor only eastern Therefore, main causes attributed socioeconomic activities. Compared traditional (GWR) method, Grid-GWR-CUDA method enough handle large data volumes efficiently retaining all samples fine (e.g., 30 m) spatial resolution because computational efficiency significantly improved graphics processing unit (GPU) acceleration. It improves accuracy by several folds over ordinary least square GWR. has potential predict future if supplied latest land cover data.

The Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone (GBGEZ) and Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) have rich wetlands. However, long-term maps with detailed wetland types in these two regions are scarce, studies on the driving forces of changes insufficient. To this end, our study produced to explore dynamics their forces. From 1990 2020, mangrove, tidal flat, coastal shallow water reservoir had similar change trends metropolitan areas. For GBGEZ between serious degradation, slight obvious restoration areas 569.23 km2, 426.89 274.83 km2 375.78 respectively; for GBA, four 986.80 1854.63 547.34 2183.57 respectively. Overall, degradation GBA were significantly larger than that GBGEZ. Sample-based analysis indicated mainly attributed direct drivers, suffering more from influence drivers. Specifically, over 90 % degradations 89 restorations affected by drivers (e.g. aquaculture). This research focused on an in-depth examination microbial community and flavor compounds within CTLs, specifically analyzing wrapper, binder, filler components a cigar. The primary objective was unravel complex relationship between composition resultant profiles, thereby providing insights that could enhance economic value CTLs. Results study revealed distinct variations in chemicals microbiota across different sections Prominent species identified CTLs included Corynebacterium , Pseudomonas Staphylococcus Aspergillus Cladosporium . Bidirectional orthogonal partial least squares (O2PLS) analysis pinpointed five bacterial four fungal as key contributors compound formation. Additionally, considering Within-module Among-module connectivity highlighted two thirteen genera keystone species. from Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) further underscored influential role microorganisms defining CTLs' profile. Riverine wetland is one of the important cityscapes along rivers, featuring powerful eco-hydrological regulations in safeguarding urban security and serving its quality. Over past several decades, intensified climate change, together with upgraded human activities, have deeply disturbed riverine worldwide caused variations amount pattern, which might lead to negative effects on ecosystem health (WEH), thus threaten sustainability agglomerations. To better understand mechanism above effectiveness, Urban Agglomerations Yellow River China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region (RUAN) was taken as an example present study. First, by establishing object-oriented remote sensing image classification system based Classification Regression Tree (CART), distribution years 2000, 2009 2018 were determined for a two-Stage (ST-I: 2000–2009, ST-II: 2009–2018) comparative research. Second, transition matrix landscape index used measure spatiotemporal dynamics two stages. Third, Pressure-State-Response (P-S-R) model, system, constructed comprehensively assess WEH there. Results revealed that: (1) Wetlands RUAN are dominated artificial ones, presenting overall increase area during statistical period, varying different trends Conversion between wetlands non-wetlands found frequent urbanization, leading remarkable changes patterns space. (2) Rivers basic forming RUAN, natural increased period. In general, patches diversity increased, shapes that became homogenized. Accordingly, aggregation decreased fragmentation worsened. (3) most experienced external pressure deterioration state, showing degradation. Meanwhile, more fundamental state itself, disturbance seemed function less. Above findings confirmed vulnerability urbanization arid circumstance. It worthy strengthening protection existing minimizing or eliminating conversion, ensure serve
