Landscape patterns have a global impact on ecosystem services (ESs). Managing land to enhance the provision of multiple ESs is vital for ecological resilience and sustainable development. Identifying critical landscape that simultaneously influence based understanding ES trade-offs needed. Our study aims develop an approach find relationship between patterns, identify promote provision, give suggestions management relationships ESs. Taking central district Wuhu City as example, production possibility frontier (PPF) Pareto ranks are used extract pattern characteristics samples effectively analysis highlights complexity emphasizes necessity multi-dimensional investigative approaches. metrics Mean Perimeter Area Ratio (PARA_MN), Coefficient Variation (PERI_CV), Area-weighted Fractal Dimension (FRAC_AM), Relative Mutual Information (RELMUTINF) emerged determinants supply. findings suggest enhancing patch shape when conducting use planning avoid homogenization keeping differences diversity categories adjacencies small. Also, we recommend caution in using high contagion only criterion planning, its effects may vary different targets.

Urban land expansion has dramatically changed the spatial distribution patterns and functional structure of habitats. Previous studies on externality effect urban habitat quality agglomerations are still insufficient. With use remote sensing statistical data from 2000 to 2018, this study explored evolutionary relationship between in Chengdu-Chongqing agglomeration (CUA) using bivariate local autocorrelation method Durbin model. Partial differential equation decomposition spillover effects was implemented investigate marginal influencing factors. The highlights results as follows: CUA’s increased by 2890.42 km2 mainly caused encroachment over farmland grassland. New lands were situated primarily main districts Chengdu Chongqing; intensity slowed 7.64% 2010–2018, declining 53.95% 2010. average decreased 0.905, two “ring-shaped decline areas” formed around areas Chongqing. “Low-High” “Low-Low” clusters associations changes. impact insignificant negative, while its adjacent have negative environmental externalities through spillovers. Our findings provide evidence for such CUA that being cultivated carry out cross-city joint protection strategies quality, also proving should be an integration regulation, natural adaptation socioeconomic adjustment.

Agricultural and livestock production involves significant trade-offs between multiple sustainable development goals, including reducing hunger poverty, emissions of greenhouse gasses. Here we describe a multi-objective optimization tool for to evaluate among environmental economic objectives with high spatial granularity the capability be aggregated national or global scales. We illustrate use this analysing how where produce beef optimize weighted sum objectives, in case minimizing gas costs production. present outputs model can inform transition industry policy decisions, focus on inherent trade-offs. By comparing optimal current production, highlight potential efficiencies that made by changing location methods As such, provides platform identify synergies diverse sustainability critical agricultural sectors.
