ABSTRACT Human actions are caused by multiple ecological stresses that affect native biotas. River biofilms large aggregates composed of a wide range organisms. In water resources, subject to hydrological variations, which can influence colony processes. This study aimed verify the state art on relationship between variables and natural river biofilms, through literature review. The results show most recurrent variable in studies was discharge/fluxes, while for biomass formation frequent variable. Because they represent portion beginning trophic chain, there is an urgent need synergistic effects subjected environments. It expected this review will approaches used understand these relationships, also expand current research scenario, elucidate gaps be filled.
