The transition to renewable energy poses a significant contemporary challenge. To address this, understanding the determinants of this is pivotal. This study examines consumption in Eurozone from 2000 2019 using panel data analysis and Driscoll-Kraay technique with time-fixed effects. Two models test: one aggregated production another disaggregated data. Confirming existing literature, strong inverse association emerges between GDP consumption. A negative relationship arises Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), imports, Moreover, direct, robust correlation exists R&D expenditure When comparing two models, shows both overall volume electricity volumes differentiated by sources. Notably, proves more pronounced model. Disaggregated type provides higher explanatory power, underscoring its value for future studies. Consequently, underscores heightened accuracy reliability transition.

The stability of electricity service mainly depends on two main factors. One them is the country’s power plant capacity and imports. Another factor network that delivers to consumers. Recently, consumer production has appeared as a third due spread renewable energies. article focuses transformation structure Hungary’s sources between 2010 2020. We used concentration indicator examine export–import deliveries with neighboring countries. also analyzed centralization electricity-generating units composition their fuels. In this article, we examined increasingly widespread energies, which are replacing traditional—mainly fossil fuel—energy carriers. relationship coal, natural gas, nuclear, solar, wind, water, bioenergy, well net imports, were using Pearson correlation matrix. This concludes energies will cause further in future, both plants. green preferred. This research is focused on present challenges, risks, uncertainties related to production consumption all member states. In order achieve objectives, huge statistical database, which covered 2012–2021, was used. analysis based specific indicators primary production; imports exports; gross available energy; final consumption; non-energy dependency; intensity.
