Abstract To scrutinize the spatial distribution attributes of soil heavy metal content and discern its pollution status within expanse Wulongdong National Forest Park, a meticulous investigation is imperative. Three altitude gradients 900, 1000, 1069 m were selected on shady sunny slopes total 300 sample points collected. Soil samples collected in layers, contents seven elements, Cr, Cd, Hg, Ni, Se, As, Pb, measured. With regard to national element background values, single factor index method, Nemerow load employed undertake thorough assessment pollution. (1) The elements Pb 0–20 cm layer Park are lower than value Henan value; Cd Hg exceed value. 2.2 times 2.92 value, 2.75 9.5 respectively; Ni but higher 1.03 content. coefficients variation all greater 50%, among which shows extreme variation, remaining six highly variable. (2) In same layer, Cr As slopes, generally slopes. On decrease with increasing altitude, Se increases altitude; while increase deepening decreases other have no obvious regularity different slope directions, altitudes layers. (3) evaluation results show that 0 ~ 20c slope, heavily polluted, moderately lightly non-polluted; five non-polluting state. (4) method 20 significantly more polluted by metals main pollutants Hg. (5) three reached levels, slightly or above polluted; polluted. Heavy pollution,
