Revealing the impact of future climate change on characteristics and evolutionary patterns meteorological hydrological droughts exploring joint distribution their drought are essential for early warning in basin. In this study, we considered Jinghe River Basin Loess Plateau as research object. The standardized precipitation index (SPI) runoff (SRI) series were used to represent with monthly generated by SWAT model. addition, evolution laws JRB based Copula functions discussed. results showed that: (1) displayed complex periodic trends flood succession, under different spatiotemporal scales scenario differ significantly. (2) terms spatial range, duration severity gradually increased along increase time scale. (3) Based model function, situation will be alleviated when compared historical period seasonal scale, but is more serious. findings can help policy-makers explore correlation between background change, well drought.

The geographical mismatch between water availability and demand further exacerbates the challenge of water-energy-food nexus in China. This study characterizes competing uses for crops energy to reveal their resulting impacts on regional inequality by integrating modified Gini coefficient unbalanced index with respect scarcity surplus. From 2000–2019, China's food production decreased 2.3 % blue footprint (ranging from −90.3 71.7 specific provinces), while sector increased 111.9 (varying −69.9 692.4 %). showed greater consumption verses available water, ranged 0.43 0.62, food-water maintained a relatively stable value approximately 0.35. Spatially, there was consistent north surplus south both energy-water nexus. Overall, exhibited larger variations provincial inequalities. divergent evolving primarily caused combination factors that included resource endowments, economic disparities, government interventions. These findings can inform policy makers towards optimizing management resources.
