Abstract This study investigates the effects of biochar, phosphogypsum, and calcium superphosphate on composting tomato straw to improve compost quality reduce time. Four treatments were tested: T1 (tomato + 0.5% EM bacterial agent), T2 10% biochar EM), T3 T4 phosphogypsum EM). Results showed that these additives extended high-temperature phase improved maturity, with being most effective. exhibited highest increase in humic acid (127.01%) greatest degradation organic matter (63%) cellulose (69.82%), outperforming control (p < 0.05). Microbial analysis revealed Firmicutes, Actinobacteriota, Proteobacteria dominated phylum level, while Bacillus, Weissella, Staphylococcus, Halocella key genera. Corynebacterium was identified as main microorganism responsible for spoilage maturation. highlights biochar’s role enhancing humification composting.
